Following the ‘Access to Art and Design’ Diploma at York College, Jo continued her love for all things creative and started to further explore printmaking. She has developed her skills and understanding of Lino printing and is now exploring collagraph and incorporating mixed media into her printmaking. In her work, Jo tries to capture the energy and activity in life and peoples favourite spaces. Her single plate lino cuts have a folky essence to them, with characters in amongst the landscapes and buildings, in which people can relate and immerse themselves in. There are often symbolic images within the prints that relate to family stories or local histories.Jo’s reduction lino prints are vibrant and colourful, with striking bold images inspired by interesting images and activities found when out with her family.
